That doesn't excuse making sloppy changes. If necessary, we'll
introduce a new variable that states whether or not auto-save should be
disabled when the buffer size shrinks. But first, I need to figure out
whether this is even enough---as I just mentioned in a reply to Eli,
this change still fails to handle auto-saving in rmail-edit.
