Yes:

   C-u M-x rmail RET SOME-mbox-FILE RET
   e
   M-x auto-save-mode
   <make some edits>

After that, wait for auto-save-timeout seconds, and you will see the
bug.  (It could be that you need a sufficiently large mbox file, to
trigger this.)
