    I agree that it rarely happens, so it is not a high-priority issue,
    but what is the benefit of breaking inheritance in that case ?

If things worked a different way, and we were proposing a change to
make them work this way, that would be the right question.  In the
present circumstances, the right question is, "What design could
possibly prevent this effect, and is that change worth the trouble
involved?"

I think it is not worth any trouble, and I would rather work on the
problems that clearly are bugs.  I wish I were not so pressed
and had time for issues like this one, but I don't.
