It's the path that contains full + incremental backup of $HOME, i.e.
how duplicity was being invoked earlier.

I have tried the exact same commands in my previous e-mail with 'echo
$PASSPHRASE && ' prepended. Same results, the passphrase is correct
everywhere.

Also I have tried this, exact same commands with PASSPHRASE=`cat ... `
prepended. Again, same results.

I will, but if everything will start working correctly after wiping
out dot files, then the cause will be lost...
