The only explanation for this statement which I can see is
that the corporations in question are afraid of the possibility
of some kind of retaliation from Microsoft against companies
which contribute to the Mono libraries under GPL.  If the
library is not copylefted anymore, then maybe Microsoft does
not see it as a threat anymore, and the managements of those
corporations would not be concerned about the possibility of
retaliation from Microsoft.  This would clearly make the
decision to contribute easier.
