When I first constructed that table, I relied on the official VMS
documentation, which, I later discovered, left a few of the
caret-escaped characters out of its list. Trust no one, I always say.
(It gets used in a whole lot of programs, too, and this is probably not
the last place I need to get it fixed, either. Sigh.)
