Ah ha!  There _is_ a FAQ!  These are the sort of problems I'm having:  the test 
programs
won't run, they complain that my xterm terminal or my linux terminal (from the 
console)
is unknown.

I'll check it out.

Oh, what newsgroups should I be monitoring?
