Everytime I have to resolve license issues, it's been &%*$&%($ hell.
Yes the FSF, is the copyright holder of mailutils. We've agreed that
the library(Core API with includes) will be LGPL and the application GPL.
This is why mailutils/mailbox/*.[ch] does not have any references outside
of it. As sergey mentioned the md5 stuff is problematic, this is one
reason we have two lib/md5.[ch](GNU) and mailbox/md5-*.(RSA)

I think Sam was referring to sieve(BSD-style) and the lib/* (GPL).
