Hi Ralf.
The answer is that it's easier for me to maintain them as separate trees;
this is how I've been working for umpteen years and I prefer it to continue
that way.
Merging isn't all that hard and it isn't done particularly often so I'm
not worried about it.
I don't anticipate moving off CVS anytime soon either; I am comfortable
with it and it meets my needs.
