Thanks for the interesting suggestion.
There is already a simple way to achieve what you want: Pipe the
compendium through "msgattrib --set-fuzzy" before passing it as an
argument to msgmerge. msgattrib is contained in gettext-0.11.
For this reason, I think it's not needed to introduce a new option in
msgmerge.
