My appologies - my bad.....

The problem was due to me using 'vim' - vim added a [TAB] into the 
Makefile on the line below the proxy.o target.

This killed the build, perhaps a bug/perhaps not.....  I'll leave that 
upto you, however it had me blind for a few days, and I only spotted the 
result through pure chance...
