Yes.  Maybe add some information in GTAGS, if made available by the tagger, 
about
the scope of the reference ?  Indeed that would just extend the current
information that only gives the filename, replacing file.c with things like
file.c::myclass::myprivateclass::aMethod::privatefunc may not require much
modifications to the current code.

Well, here I did not thought to add anything to the status line, just add one
more field to each entry in the list.
