This is not an acceptable situation.

Since the DBus work for Xiphos was committed into the tree, the Windows build
has been a challenge to make work, and with little value, owing to the fact
that the domain socket path is used.

I think integrations like Xiphos/DBus are a reasonable thing to do, as they
push the envelope of what is possible. However, introducing crashing bugs into
software, even on the fully-supported platform of Linux, is unacceptable.

Can you either:
1) Fix this problem
-or-
2) Provide a configure-time option to include experimental options like this
Xiphos integration? e.g. --with-xiphos --with-dbus

Thoughts?
