My mistake, -load is used in the posix wrapper script. It becomes
-trace when invoking bayonne.bin (or server.exe). -trace is meant to
log to stdout and run live mode in the forground, while
-start is meant
for daemon mode startup....
On server.exe there is also a -dump-registry which gives you
the "raw"
config as found at server startup and gives a good idea what
it may have
read from the registry and/or ini files. -dump-install has extra
processing and fills in missing defaults.
In any case, for you to use server.exe -trace soundcard, you
will also
need "soundcard.rll" to be in C:\Program Files\Common Files\GNU
Telephony\Bayonne Drivers, and hopefully it is there :).

--test assumes the "build" environment, or, for w32, the Release
subdirectory of the project build. What happens if you use --load
soundcard? What do you get with "server -dump-install", and "server
-dump-testing"? Those should at least give a good idea where
the server
thinks things are installed for "test" and "live" modes.
And yes, I do desperately need a simple README/FAQ for the
w32 build as
well :)

Got this.
The installer creates a shortcut to bayonne.exe while it
should create it
for server.exe.
Also running the shortcut does not do anything after I
changed it from
bayonne.exe to server.exe!
Running "server --test soundcard" from command line shows this:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\GNU Telephony\Runtime>server
--test soundcard
testing 0.1.0 on x86 w32; driver=soundcard, timeslots=32
server exiting; reason=-1

Hi David,
I downloaded and installed the Win32 Installer. There are
no executables?

I probably should have mentioned there is also a brand new
bayonne w32
build (bayonne2.exe) release, and the first OS/X
package release.

I managed to drop off a 0.3.0 release today which has a lot of
phrasebook stuff now complete, including initial phrasebook
models for
English, French, and Italian. The Russian, Spanish, and
Bengali ones
should get into the next point release.
