Yes, but it's a fact.
The Linux community (and me too), have seached for ages to find documentationa 
and/or code for the huge number of existing cards. Prism is the only open source
driver at the moment.
The companies are, for some obscure reason, reluctant (so say the least) about
leaving out ANY information about their cards.

Not just foolish, but plain stupid, as the Linux user base is growing quite 
large.
Not to mention all the embedded systems that would be able to use the cards.
