...I'm not sure if it's the <snip> you wanted clarified instead, so here
 goes in clarifying the seperate file(s).
... with linux/unix accounts, each user has their own home directory, which
may be a nice place to put preferences on which dictionaries to use.
The later versions of windows such as win2k, xp, other also have user
accounts of some sort...

Suppose you are a 1-computer home.
you use the computer for programming plus misc,
english=yes
prog-terms=yes
(keep the above settings in Gary's home directory)

meanwhile, suppose if you have a wife, your wife uses it for chat plus
talking to others in her parents country.
english=yes
swedish=yes
(keep the above settings in Gretta's home directory)

...supposing there is a junior...who likes games ;-)
english=yes
gametalk=yes
oldspeak=flag-as-errors  ;-)

When Gary runs aspell, it tests for english & programming terms, meanwhile
Gretta makes certain that her writing doesn't flag errors in swedish while
junior writes gametalk and makes sure he doesn't put any words in his stuff
that suggests that he's probably ancient-like-his-parents  ;-)

possibility #2
Suppose you work in an office, let's say "Texas Oil New-n-used Pump Parts"

Everyone in the office would belong to the group of sales-men ...ahem,
 modern term is sales associate :-)
it would make sense that as a group, everyone have these set:
english=yes
oil-pump-terms=yes

...then the individual salespeople may have personal settings in their home
directories for additional dictionary tests...

salesman1
japanese=yes
mandarin=yes

saleman2
arabic=yes

salesman3
french=yes
german=yes
spanish=yes

salesman4
gametalk=yes
oldspeak=flag-as-errors  ;-)

If it's a large company, you may have special groups too, such as
engineering, enviromental, ...etc... in which case those groups may also get
included in group dictionary selections.....

hopefully that helps clarify the <snip>
