I would definitely appreciate 1600x1200 ones :)
Seriously though, I think it's a good idea to work at a high res and
scale down afterwards to your desired size rather than working on small
images. You get better quality that way!

If I colour in some of my sketches and tinker with them in GIMP I could
perhaps make something too. I'm gonna get them on my computer this
morning.
