Neither do I.  Especially since I tend not to use any specific
distro.   However, if yuk  [ sorry.. yum 8o)  ] fails, how about
trying one or both of the following?

 apt-get update
 apt-get install gcc-c++

All I know, is that a proper install of the gnu c compiler also
installs gnu c++ ( aka g++ )
