Follow-up Comment #1, bug #55267 (project octave):

I used to see this message, but I think it has now disappeared on my system
(Debian testing). I don't think Octave can do anything about this, it is
between Qt and GTK. My guess is it has to do with the GTK native file dialog
plugin for Qt.
