Hello

I have problems with compiling x-logmaster 1.6 on hp ux 10.20.

I have reveiwed all logviewers in freshmeat and xlogmaster is by far the
best. I want to use it to watch logfiles that fill up with snmp traps
becuase it is better than the hp-openview logviewer. Because it can filter
far better.

However, our hp openview is on a hp-box , and there we get the troubles..

Before I ask my questions the following:

Can there not be an xlogmaster binary with uncluded libraries?
Who has installed it on hp-ux? Tips?
That way you can run it in some compatibility software. That would work on
solaris at least.
Anyway..the hp story

I have first installed
bin-utils; gettext; gcc; gmake
and then libc-1.2.10
gtk+ 1.2.10
all with depot files from http://hpux.tn.tudelft.nl

This all goes well.

I have put gtk-config in the PATH by making a link to gtk-config which is
actually in /opt/gtk/bin/

However, when I run ./configure

the thing gets lost with an error.

configure: error: Cannot find GTK+: Is gtk-config in executable path ?
================================================================

Of course gtk-config is in the path and also I have not moved it.

The config.log says:
==============================

configure:1587: gcc -o conftest  -I/opt/gtk+/include/gtk-1.2
-I/opt/glib/include -I/opt/glib/
include/glib-1.2 -I/opt/glib/lib/glib/include -I/opt/gettext/include

#include <stdio.h>

 return ((gtk_major_version) || (gtk_minor_version) || (gtk_micro_version));
; return 0; }
===========================
so it seems it cannot find lXeext. This is correct because I have found that
gettext does install lintl but not lXexts. Don't know why?

However, when I do ./configure --disable-gtktest
I get no errors (surprise surprise).
Not until I do gmake that is :-)

when I run gmake I get the following errors:

So any help out there on this very quiet list?
