Very nicely done! :-) The only thing that you might like to add is
Standard Type Services Framework (STSF) at
http://stsf.sourceforge.net/
It is probably not as popular in XFree86 circles where Xft and
Xft2/fontconfig are the popular. Nevertheless, it seems STSF has also
been made rather mature by Sun Microsystem and promoted by OpenI18N
(was Li18nux), and it is also BSD licensed, so it may gain some more
popularity in Linux/UNIX circles yet. Dunno. :-)
