We're not speaking about Emba, this is a general rule.You're not solving a real problem
Michael is definitely solving a real problem. Anyone who runs "make check" with a pyslp on their computer that was not installed with pip will see these tests fail. And running "make check" is something that we recommend in CONTRIBUTE.
