I've flushed the ipchans in Redhat box. but it didn't work at all. the message
was same "connection refused"
i had checked the the chains before clearing them. FTP was open. I just don't
know what the problem is. interestingly these two box do not use the proxy as
the other computers in the lan use. so there should be no problem from
firewall or ...
the libranet on the other box has the same configurations as my computer in
home has. I can use FTP in home but not in the university lan!!
