This might be a bit of a stretch however, what about a database
interface that would make an update file available over the net for the
list of prefixes?

Since there is already a substantial number of calls being stored in the
database on the client program it looks like both known current calls
and odd prefixes could be downloaded and checked.

How large of a headache would this be?
