I agree that the API documentation in general is not needed for the
release.  What is most important are the simpler/common user
customizations.

Was Ludo going to do it, or someone else?  Do you know?

    I have also seen some things here and there in the manual that needs to 
    be modified (like texi2any now produces info in the default case, ...

Please do update those as you find them.

I also plan to read through the (new chapters of the) manual again,
probably more than once, and no doubt will have plenty of
questions/clarifications.
