[Synaptic-devel] Documentation for Synaptic 0.48

Dear translators and list members,

I've uploaded a nearly finished documentation to the 0.48 branch. It is
not complete in the described functions, but complete in the sense of
releasable.

It would be nice if you could take a look at it and notify me of
(possible) errors, bad terms or inconsistences.

I think that the structure won't change any more; perhaps some wordings.
But this won't affect translations. So you can feel free to translate
it.

You don't have to do a word-by-word translation. It is more important
that the documentation has a good readability in your language.

Doing the translation of the 0.48 branch has one negative aspect: The
main purpose of the 0.48 release will be to get a polished and complete
version of synaptic into Debian Sarge, since the user interface rewrite
is already in progress but (perhaps) won't be finished before the freeze
phase of Debian Sarge.

So huge parts of the documentation and possible translations of it have
to be rewritten after the 0.48 release - I am already on the
documentation.

I have prepared a small separate tarball with the manual, instructions
on how to translate and a docbook-to-html script. You can download it
here:

If you have any questions on how to translate a documentation, comments
or bug reports, please feel free to contact me personally:

Sebastian
