The current issue of the Ecological Society of America's newsletter
features an article on "computational ecology". The two scientists
intervewed are Jim Anderson and Lou Gross, who were at the 1998 workshop
on Swarm and GIS. Also appearing are our Swarm model of salmon
out-migrant survival and references to the Swarm web site, our fish
modeling site, and Gecko.

The article is at: http://esa.sdsc.edu/news65.htm

Jim tells me that there is some interest in developing a computational
ecology section in ESA; if you are interested, I suggest contacting him.

Also appearing in this issue of the ESA newsletter is an job ad for an
individual-based fish modeling position at my former home, Oak Ridge
National Lab. I have been very involved their program and encourage good
swarmists to apply; would be glad to talk to any potential applicant.
