Hi, All
I am very interested in the talks about Swarm and GIS, and also I agree with
most of the comments other people already made.
I am an ecological modeler and GIS user as well. I used lots of Arc/Info for
work in the past, but for my PhD project now I am using Grass instead. Mainly I
am interested to see Swarm be able to effecient communicate with GIS(not with
ascii format). At this stage I am interested in a loosely-coupled Swarm and GIS
as Alex mentioned. But Paul Box's work seems very impresive to me because this
kind of space will potentially have a important implications in ecosystem
simulation. For GIS package I also think Grass is worth to include because many
people in the research institutes and Universities used it.
