Several months ago I had the same request, and I then stated that I'd
add some plugin API to Rhythmbox. I'm not so sure anymore. For a few
reasons, I don't happen to be particularly fond of
Rhythmbox. Moreover, the actual streamtuner API is, for historical
reasons, quite ugly, and needs a major reworking. I might sease that
occasion to turn streamtuner into a full-featured audio player by
adding GStreamer support to it.
