Thanks for the suggestion Jeff,

I've set up two dev boxes now with BDB 5.1.29 and 5.2.36 respectively, so I'll try to reproduce the error. I've set the memory on both the virtual machines to 1GB. If I succeed at reproducing it I'll try out a DB_PRIVATE flag in the process..
