The box on which guile-reader failed is a gentoo box with guile 1.8.8. The box on which it succeeded is a T2 box, but I don't have acces to it today to tell you the guile version.

guile-reader cloned freshly from git now builds fine on my gentoo box and 'make check' passes all tests (skribilo built against this installed guile-reader does not pass all tests).
