Full Name:
----------
 conexus

System Group Name:
-----------------
 conexus

Type:
-----
 non-GNU software & documentation

Description:
------------
 conexus is a generalized C++ I/O library that includes support for BSD
sockets, serial/tty, packet capture (via pcap), et. al.

conexus utilizes sigc++ for object communication. A companion library,
conexusgtk, provides a set of gtkmm widgets including an entry box that
validates a hostname entry via dns and provides the user with simple visual
feedback.

Why does the world need yet another C++ socket library? Because there aren't
any that integrate sigc++ signals into the objects themselves, allowing
easier integration with glibmm/gtkmm applications.

Other:

* Source code location: http://miskatonic.cs.nmsu.edu/projects
* Language: C++
* Dependencies: gtkmm, hal, dbus, pcap
* Target OS: Linux, but FreeBSD may work as well
