Description:

  Library Management System is an open source library management system. This
can be used by libraries of schools and medium-sized colleges. Library
Management System or OpenLMS will be web based and it will enable its user to
effectively administer the common functionalities of library. The coding of
OpenLMS has not yet started and i am hoping to start it very soon after the
design is over. Right now i have deciding over the database schema. OpenLMS
will essentially have a backend database of MySQL. OpenLMS will be
implemented in J2EE technology like JSP, Servlets, Struts, Hibernate,etc. It
will run on jboss application server, which is again open source.

Through OpenLMS i would like to provide a free software to be used by library
administrators for effectively managing the books in library. Till now the
project's scope is limited to books and journals only. Digital media is out
of scope for this project.
