The word "curses" is not used in any of them beyond what we called! I am
really puzzled by how your system's libncurses gets into the Bash executable,
its not explicitly linked anywhere! 

So I had a look in the source of Bash's `configure' script and I have a guess
that may solve the problem:

In the build-rule of Bash, (where we call `gbuild') can you add
`--with-curses=yes', just before `$$stopt'. Then try re-building Bash and
checking its linked libraries. If it works, please commit it over that branch
so I also try it and hopefully close the bug.

Just one tiny tip: to avoid taking extra space on Savannah for archiving text
files, you can run `gzip output.txt' to compress them to `.txt.gz' and upload
that. This will greatly reduce their size and help Savannah maintainers in
terms of required space ;-).
