Hi Chris,

What's the best way to implement a rotation policy? We'd like to keep daily backups for a week, then weekly backups for a month, then monthly backups. Are there some scripts available, or perhaps docs that explain it in simple terms?

Sorry, as far as I know it's not possible to combine old rdiff-backup increments to reduce their size and implement such a strategy. You can only delete all increments over a certain age. It's something that I would really like to see as well.

Then again, rdiff-backup reduces the need for this by being quite efficient with disk space. You might not save much by deleting intermediate increments anyway (probably only the size of the metadata files, which can be a few megabytes per increment).

Cheers, Chris.
