Hi all!
When virtualizing e.g. a Windows 10 installation with QEMU and using the
default graphics card (with no command line option set), it shows up as a
"Microsoft Basic Display Adapter", and one can choose from a lot of
resolutions:
1920 x 1200
1920 x 1080
1680 x 1050
1600 x 1200
1440 x 900
1280 x 900
1280 x 1024
1280 x 960
1280 x 800
1024 x 768
800 x 600
even more on Windows 7. When adding a VirtIO graphics card via "-vga virtio"
or "-device virtio-vga" and installing the respective drivers, the card shows
up as a "Red Hat VirtIO GPU DOD controller", and most of the options are gone:
2560 x 1600
1920 x 1080
1280 x 1024
1024 x 768
800 x 600
Is it possible to get more resolution options for a VirtIO grahics card?
Thanks for all help!
Cheers, Tobias
