I'm not sure but in my case I use this option for network (user mode)

-netdev user,id=vnet,hostfwd=:127.0.0.1:0-:22 -device
virtio-net-pci,netdev=vnet

I can access my local network with no problem. I think the qemu will be
working as bridge/nameserver/dhcp_server.
But you cannot access your virtual machine from outside. (you should use
TUN/TAP networking, I once used it but forget how to setup).
