A few versions ago, qcow2 encryption was completely redesigned based on
LUKS full disc encryption instead of the old ad-hoc design in older
qcow2 versions.
However, looking in the end user documentations (mostly man pages), I
have been unable to find coherent high level documentation directed at
qemu users (as opposed to design documents for qemu developers).
Main questions:
1. From what minimum qemu released version (corresponding to official
tarballs) is the modern qcow2 encryption and its user interface (qemu-*
command lines and human monitor commands) fully implemented and stable?
2. Where can I find a complete configuration example using only qemu-*
binaries (not libvirt, proxmox or other high level wrappers)?
Enjoy
Jakob
