Since version 1.6.x I get an empty QEMU window, whenever I start a VM (also tested with 1.7.0) and qemu-system-x86-64 uses up to 90 % cpu time. OS is openSUSE 12.3 and 13.1 (no difference).qemu 1.5 works with the (same) parameters:/usr/local/bin/qemu-system-x86_64 -m 2048 -enable-kvm -monitor stdio -vga std \-net nic,model=e1000,name=nam$1,vlan=$1,macaddr=52:54:5$1:12:34:56 \ -net tap,vlan=$1,name=nam$1 $2$1 is a number between 1 and 9 to differentiate multiple qemu instances, $2 is mostly empty. It makes no difference if I change the -vga or the -monitor parameter.Any hints? Hermann-Josef Beckers
You might try upgrading "cairo" This was the case for slackware 14.1. -E. e.g.
Subject: [Qemu-discuss] qemu 1.6.1 on slackware 14.1 Hi, I had the same problem. To solve it try to upgrade "cairo" with the package in current. ftp://ftp.slackware.com/pub/slackware/slackware64-current/slackware64/l/cairo-1.12.16-x86_64-1.txz Take care -- Thibaut
