Which version are you using ? Since 0.15, the option names changed (to unify
them and have a kind of logic across the scripts).
$ po4a-gettextize --help
Usage:
po4a-gettextize -f *format* -m *original.doc* [-l *localized.doc*] -p file.po
So, I guess you meant
po4a-gettextize -f man -m nano.orig.1 -l nano.1 -p nano.po
If not, have a look at po4a-gettextize(1) ;)
