I don't know if this is at all meaningful, but I just tried a quick compile
under mingw32, and I got:

./configure --enable-internalexpat --enable-internalphysfs --prefix= ...

checking for zlib.h... no

However: I most certainly have zlib.h in /usr/include:

make

gcc -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I. -I. -g -O2 -O2 -D_REENTRANT -D_THREAD_SAFE -c
physfs_byteorder.c -o physfs_byteorder.o >/dev/null 2>&1
mv -f .libs/physfs_byteorder.lo physfs_byteorder.lo
make[4]: *** No rule to make target `zlib114/libz.la', needed by
`libphysfs.la'. Stop.
make[4]: Leaving directory `/c/tmp/paragui-1.0.4/src/physfs'

I am sure these problems exist just because mingw32/msys is not linux. BUT:
I checked and these problem (zlib.h / zlib114/libz.la) were not problems in
my 1.03 compile. Hope this helps.

Due to the recent changes i decided to make a 1.0.4 Beta1 before releasing
the
final version. :))

Sources and Binaries can be found here:
http://savannah.nongnu.org/files/?group=paragui

Please test this beta version. I'm not sure if the latest changes broke
anything (don't think so, but who knows...).

If anyone feels comfortable with generating binaries for other platforms,
compilers, ... Feel free to do it unattended. But inform me if i should
publish them. ;^)

Alex

PS: This release is code-named "egg-wars are over". ;-)
PPS: This releasename is strictly releated to easter.
PPPS: If you didn't get the point,... never mind.
