Hi.
First of all wait for more opinions i don't hold the absolute truth...
The spectrum system which i dislike personaly (overpriced and low 
capabilities) can use the so callled satellite receivers ie additional 
receivers for diversity, different aircraft orientations can affect the 
antenna polarization.
If you will use an LPC based autopilot (or any paparazzi autopilot for 
that matter) all you need is a receiver with PPM output.
I would use your existing mx16 and convert it to use the Frsky with 
telemetry FHSS system which i think is one of the best i have tried and 
believe me i have spent a fortune on every imaginable module and 
protocol there is.

or buy an el cheapo 9X radio again with the above module-rx pack.
I use a modified 9X with an ARM cpu and OpenTx in it for everything i fly.
