I think it is important because the uplink is decoded with datalink message set and downlink with the telemetry message portion of conf/messages.xml .

Any idea why sd2log doesn't work with data collected on UART1? The only diference in the data seems to be the source byte (00 or 01).

That was indeed the problem. One needs to connect the logomatic with its uart0 port !
