Re: [Paparazzi-devel] www.jobyrobotics.com

I just had some contact with a few people from Joby, and although this is not an official reply and I do not know all aspects, I know at least quite some people are hoping for news quickly, so here is how I understand things: the website going down was more a coincidence but came at the same time that several people left Joby + Antoine is presenting his Ph.D these weeks and focusing entirely on that + quadshot project bought quite a bit of the hardware making stocks low (not empty) and new assembly orders needed + several people are facing new career decisions ... I believe it is the fact that (friendly) discussions are still going on (who will order/sell which stock, who will make which huge investment in ordering new hardware etc..) while people are extremely busy the end of the year that has delayed the official reply which is still to come. However I think that things are looking good as I was told that new orders have been made (at least lisa-m), so it's a matter of having some more patience as it all takes a lot of work. Hope this helps.

Yep I realise this. Also I realise that something has happened to the company and nobody knows what was it. What is bad - nobody is willing to tell customens what happened. Of several possibilities there are: owners changed; the was a split due to some argument; the company got absorbed by other company; web site belongs to a completely different company - just to name a few. Also, looks like Piotr is no longer with the company and he was a real driving force, at least from what I saw. I thought Jobyrobotics would do some public statement, but silence looks awkward and bad.

So that website is down and it would clearly seem that no one on this list has influence with the owner of the site.

I guess like any other website on the internet... you'll have to wait for the owners of the site to do something about it.
It would seem that they are working on things and the website isn't the highest priority for them...

So you and I will just have to wait. :-)

But the web site is still down. So, despite the link on the paparazzi web page, nobody can order anything anyway..
Anyone has any explanations to what is going on?

Hi all,
Things seem to go slowly back to normal at jobyrobotics. Colin just sent me
an email. I guess that I can expect to get my IMU soon. So I guess that one
can keep the link to jobyrobotics online after all...
I must admit that Piotr always answered very kindly and very quickly to most
of my emails, but in a way that made me suspect that he was not directly
involved in jobyrobotics anymore and until yesterday I had no contact with
someone that could tell me exactly what was going on with my order.
I'll let you know if and when I will have received it.
Cheers
Cédric
