Follow-up Comment #1, bug #61629 (project octave):

Octave changed the way it interprets command syntax. See also bug #60882. We
should probably add something about this in the NEWS file.

Like in your patch, the generate_html package would need to change `idx ++` to
`idx++` to be compatible with the new parsing rules.
