Follow-up Comment #28, bug #60016 (project octave): I pushed a fix that makes sense for me on the default branch: https://hg.savannah.gnu.org/hgweb/octave/rev/75556567592e I really think this isn't much of an ugly workaround and remains fairly simple and consistent with what we do with other library special cases.
