basically:
1 - Rik and Kai suggests removing the warning
2 - I think load working in this manner is crazy and warning makes sense so I
suggest adding a function to load from the samples directory
3 - jwe agrees that warning is desirable and proposes making a variable for
data directory public, alternatively change the default warning state
4 - Rik is against adding a new function and so suggests ignoring the warning
if data is the sample data.
5 - jwe is against making the data directory a special exemption case for the
warning
