Interesting and good to know.
Is there a time interval I need to wait before it registers again or is 
there a way to force it?  It's been a little over 48hrs and the daemon 
has been restarted.


The ID file is stored by default in the home of the user under which 
Monit is running. You don't need to modify the file - Monit will
