Hi,

the format with date prefix is the format used for the logfile as defined by 
the "set logfile <path>" statement. The format without date prefix is normally 
displayed to the standard error output only (when the "-I" option is used).

Maybe you have redirected the monit output to the log file which you use in the 
"set logfile" like this?:
--8<--
monit -vI > /var/log/monit.log 2>&1
--8<--

It would then contain both the standard output (wihtout date) and the log 
output (with date).
