Thank you, for anyone inerested in doing the same, this is how I got temperature and voltage to be monitored:
add this to the crontab for whatever user:
* * * * *       /usr/local/bin/sensors > /var/tmp/lm_sensors
add this recipe for monit:
check file lm_sensors with path /var/tmp/lm_sensors
if match "ALARM" then alert

Hopefully soon lm_sensors will be more attractively integrated into monit ;)
